Braelyn's first Christmas Tree

This year we decided to put a Christmas tree in Braelyn's room since she can actually participate in Christmas and sort of understand whats going on. So we went out after she had been really good and as promised mommy went and got her a tree for her room. That's right her very own Christmas tree that she decorated (with the help of Mommy and Daddy , of course). Here's a pic of the tree, I took it with my phone so please forgive the way it looks.

Hostess with the Mostess® // Fabulous Finds for Contemporary Entertaining

IT's Tuesday.......

Just wanted to share that my wonderful Husband got me the perfume that I had been talking about ( Viva La Juicy) Oh it smells sooo good!. Of course it took me falling and hitting my head getting a hickey and a cut oh and also a swollen knee before he got it but he did.

We took our daughter to a birthday party and while there I noticed that there was another little girl who was bigger than her age but very rambucious and busy, well long story short the little girl got into the tent while my daughter was in there and another little baby trying to get in and they all fell over due to this other little girl turning over the tent and my daughter almost smashed another little girl and yep you guess it MOMMY TO THE RESCUE.... I flew down there to keep them from all hurting each other and I got hurt but I'm OK. I will take a lick anytime to protect my little cub.

Chicken Burger
Total: 26 minutes

 335 Calories
Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

• 1 tablespoon capers, drained

• 2 shallots, trimmed and peeled

• 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

• 1/4 teaspoon salt

• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

• Cooking spray

• 4 whole-wheat hamburger buns

• 1/4 cup canola mayonnaise

• 4 green leaf lettuce leaves

• 8 plum tomato slices

• 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Preparation

1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a food processor; process until finely ground. Divide chicken mixture into 4 equal portions; shape each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty. Heat a large grill pan over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Add patties to pan; cook 5 minutes on each side.

2. Place bottom half of each bun on a plate, and spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise over each. Top each burger with 1 lettuce leaf, 1 patty, and 2 tomato slices. Spread 1 1/2 teaspoons mustard over each bun top, then top burgers.

OK, so now for the treat.......
These cupcakes are easy to make, and because simple ingredients are used, it's best to purchase premium cocoa powder and dark chocolate. Since they're studded with dark chocolate chunks, just dusting them with powdered sugar is enough to decorate these treats. Bake them in muffin cup liners. A dozen of these are a terrific treat to bring to coworkers at the office.

Double-Chocolate Cupcakes

Yield: 12 servings (serving size: 1 cupcake)
150 Calories
Ingredients

• 1 cup all-purpose flour (about 4 1/2 ounces)

• 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa

• 1 teaspoon baking soda

• 1/8 teaspoon salt

• 2/3 cup granulated sugar

• 1/4 cup butter, softened

• 1/2 cup egg substitute

• 1 teaspoon vanilla

• 1/2 cup 1% low-fat buttermilk

• 1 1/4 ounces dark (70 percent cocoa) chocolate, finely chopped

• 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350°.

Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup, and level with a knife. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; stir with a whisk.

Place granulated sugar and butter in a large bowl; beat with a mixer at medium speed until well combined (about 3 minutes). Add egg substitute and vanilla, beating well. Add flour mixture and buttermilk alternately to granulated sugar mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Fold in chocolate. Spoon batter into 12 muffin cups lined with muffin cup liners. Bake at 350° for 18 minutes or until cake springs back when touched lightly in center or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan; cool completely on a wire rack. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! 2011

OK, so.......It's a new year and we have all made these "Resolutions" of what we are not or what we are going to do. But,  the question is what are you "Really" going to do??? As for me I have decided that I am not going through the whole resolution thing, I'm just gonna do what I can when I can and the rest will fall into place.
This is my do what I can list.....
I want to be a better person (Not that I'm bad or anything) just want to do better.
I am going to start each day by asking God what is that I can do that will be pleasing to him.
Next, I am going to try, try, try to get better at being a mommy (to a toddler) and Not forget that I'm still a wife to my husband. I have somehow forgotten that and been so wrapped up with my daughter that I have forgot that Yes, I am still Chis' wife and I need to be a little more into him and his needs and be a better partner to him.
Now last but not least lose this 10 pounds that I have picked up over Thanksgiving and Christmas.

So those are just some of the top things, What are yours?

xoxo,
ME
